Dress 10 Lbs. Slimmer

Choose darker colors as the basis of your wardrobe: navy, brown black, charcoal gray.

Use undergarment foundations: from all-in-one shapers to control top pantyhose.

Focus on playing up your best features, for example showing off shapely legs with a knee-length skirt.

Choose fabrics that don't cling, avoiding stiff or bulky textures.

Use accessories to draw attention to your face: scarves, earrings, etc.

Avoid anything too tight or clingy.

Make sure you scale your accessories -- from your handbag to your earrings -- to your size.

Add small shoulderpads to sweaters and other knit tops to make them hang better.

Tips:

Prints should be scaled for your body -- no ditzy prints if you are large. In general, it's the space between prints that makes them unflattering, so look for prints that have overlapping images.

Don't shy away from sleeveless garments, especially evening wear that you can cover up with a shawl, sheer top or bolero jacket.

Don't think that baggy clothes make you look slimmer. Body-conscious clothes that hint at your curves, without being clingy or tight, are the most flattering.

Minimize Hips ? No problem

Hi, here's some tips on how to make your hips look slimmer :

Wear Wide-Legged Pants
Generally known as a trouser cut. This basically means that as you get closer to your knee, your leg opening gets wider.

You still want to have the pants come in slightly at the knee, but ultimately you have a wider legged pants. Some people call it boot cut.

Wear Dark Colors
Another aspect of making your hips look slimmer is to focus on dark colors. The lighter the color, the bigger your hips will look.

Wear a One-Button Jacket
A minimal shoulder pad is a great way to minimize your hips. We want to go minimal with the shoulder pad, so avoid anything too bulky.

Also a perfect detail for minimizing your hips is a jacket with one button. This just draws your attention, slims out your waist, and just balances out your shoulder pads and your waist to create a more hourglass figure.

Things to Avoid to Minimize Hips :

Avoid any slim-legged pants if you are trying to deemphasize your hips. You absolutely want to avoid pleats – no pleats, ladies! That definitely will accentuate your hips.

Avoid pockets. However, a good pocket is one that is closer to your pants, closer to the front zipper. The further over it goes on your waist, the further it will accentuate your hips.

Avoid a side zipper pants. We love to break up the front of the pant with a front zipper detail.

Avoid back pockets on pants. Pocket bags on pants always makes your hips look slimmer.
